Free your mind

Mental Health has never been seen as much as a priority as it has been in the last twenty years. There are literally thousands of self-help books written on the subject, all with the aim of bringing people to a sense of contentment, that will keep their mind to a more positive place.

In recent times, there have been books on making your bed in the morning, so you start your day with a sense of purpose and enhanced productivity. An overwhelming amount of books also mention the idea of decluttering your mind. Stop worrying about things you can’t change. Stop holding on to mistakes of the past. All great advice.

What more and more people are beginning to realise is that if you live in a cluttered space, or if you have clutter around you, your mind will mirror that mess. Is there a spare room in your house for instance, that you avoid because it puts you in bad humour. Are there bags of clothes on top of bags of clothes, maybe an old exercise bike and some tools that you haven’t used to five years. Maybe the shed is in such a state of clutter that you can barely get inside the front door.

From talking to customers over the last two years especially, we have learned that de-cluttering spaces can actually free your mind. It’s like a feeling of getting a new notebook - the possibilities are endless. Clutter causes negativity, which can weigh heavy on your mind.

There’s a reason why you feel so much better after a morning cleaning the house. As you clean the rooms, you clean your mind. Negativity drains away and you feel like you can take on the world!

At Kollect, we pride ourselves on freeing people’s spaces, and people’s minds. We make it as easy as humanly possible to remove junk/clutter/waste from your lives, thus freeing up your mind at the same time.

As the song goes, free your mind and the rest will follow…
