Kollect have been awarded Climate-KIC Accelerator funding for the breakthrough idea to counter climate change. The Climate-KIC Accelerator are looking for innovators that can help with climate impact. Climate-KIC Accelerator is the cleantech accelerator with a focus on climate impact. Kollect, the waste and recycling management technology company has been awarded this programme, based on our innovative technology and service that has high potential for both commercial viability and climate impact.

Climate-KIC Accelerator

Climate-KIC is the EU's main climate innovation initiative. The Dublin Climate-KIC Accelerator supports promising start-ups by providing the tools, opportunities and network to transform break through innovations in climate innovation and finance. They feel technology start-ups seldom fail on technology, but they fail on commercialisation.Kollect is innovating waste and recycling management through the use of real time technologies and data analytics. We empower our customers by providing the technology to book on-demand bin collections. We give flexibility to our customers by offering them a pay-as-you-go service, allowing them to book their bin collection online whenever their bin is full. Customers no longer have to put out half full bins and pay for a service they don't fully utilise. We can save small households up to 40% on annual bin collection charges. Also, our flexible bin collection means less trucks are on the road, it is far more economic driving around to bins we know are out. We increase efficiency and we remove the inefficiencies of today's waste management and create a superior experience for you, our customer.Sustainable Nation works closely with the Irish Department of Finance to deliver its International Financial Services (IFS) Strategy 2020. The Paris Climate Agreement Meeting (COP21) placed climate change firmly in the heart of the global financial system, putting an emphasis on how the trillions of dollars required to mitigate and adapt to climate change could be mobilised. This reflected the realisation that holding global warming below the accepted 2oC target would require an unprecedented reallocation of capital.Kollect is a technology start-up that is laser focused on climate change and climate impact. Our waste and recycling management technology company offers sustainable finance and aids to the climate impact and reduce unnecessary waste collections. We are also encouraging customers to recycle more by offering weekly recycling options at a lower price, than general bin collection. This incentivises recycling.
