What skip should I hire?

When it comes to hiring a skip, there are a number of things that you must remember.

1. Pick the right company

Firstly, it’s important to pick a company that has good online reviews. Check out Google, Facebook and Trust Pilot to see what how other people got on with their skip hire in Dublin, or skip hire in Limerick etc. Kollect receive consistent five star reviews but don’t just take our word for it. https://ie.trustpilot.com/review/kollect.ie

2. Find the right size

It’s important to match the right tool to the right job. If you’re digging up the entire back, including removing decking, you’ll need a skip that’s up to the job. At Kollect we aim to create simple ways to have all waste collected and recycled globally. Sometimes, trying to estimate which size skip you’ll need is one of the trickiest parts of hiring a skip. The risk of ordering a skip too small is that you’ll need to hire a second skip. If you order one too large then you’ve spent more than you needed to on rubbish removal in the first place. Here are some of our skip sizes but our customer service team will help you to make the right decision. https://kollect.ie/pages/skip-hire-size-guide

3. Make sure the company you book is reliable and waste compliant

Be careful about booking skips and waste removal services on social media. A lot of the illegal dumping that you see around Ireland is directly related to people unwittingly booking “man with a van” services on Facebook and Instagram. Very often, these people are not licensed and compliant and you have no way of knowing where your waste will end up. When this waste is inevitably found, it could lead back to your door, and a hefty fine.
