About Kollect


Headquartered in Waterford, Kollect on Demand Holding AB (“Kollect”) is a Swedish holding company for the Kollect group of companies, which is listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Stockholm (ticker: KOLL).


Kollect services two types of customers: those who arrange to have waste collected (bins, skips or junk removal) via the online Kollect booking engine and those who use BIGbin smart compactor bins for waste drop-off.


The services include domestic door-to-door bin collection, commercial bin collection, skip (container) and skip bag hire and junk removal such as furniture and other large objects.


The operating businesses in the Kollect Group are:


·       Kollect on Demand Limited, the Irish operating company for the ‘waste collection’ business in Ireland and the principal trading entity within the group;


·       Kollect on Demand (UK) Limited has recently begun trading in the UK (the volume of trade is not yet material to the overall group); and


·       BIGbin Waste Tech Limited, the ‘waste drop-off’ business in Ireland.

Group Financial Controller (‘GFC’)



Based in the Company’s head office at Unit F4, Waterford City Enterprise Centre, Waterford Business Park, Cork Road, Waterford, Ireland or remotely from home office from-time-to-time as agreed with the CFO.

General description of role:


The GFC is deployed as a member of the Kollect management team focused on delivering a first-class service to our clients.  The GFC will primarily support the Group CFO in managing the finance function of a listed company, with an ultimate view of taking ownership of the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss.



The GFC will be responsible for delivering financial and accounting services including:


·       Month-end reconciliation processes

·       VAT returns

·       Compilation of report for the Board of Directors

·       Compilation of quarterly report for public markets

·       Payroll review

·       Keeping good books and records in accordance with agreed policies

·       Audit support

·       Payments and supplier relationships

·       Cost control and efficiencies

·       Consolidation and financial accounting

·       Review of book-keeping for Irish, UK and Swedish entities

·       Management of software solutions and integrations into accounting system

·       Credit control – review of commercial customers’ credit

·       Managing the running of the day-to-day finance operations of the business (Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Revenue Recognition)

·       Cash control/ Working Capital management

·       Foreign exchange control



The GFC must have the following:


Professional expertise:


1.     demonstrated mastery of financial and accounting space


Technology skills:


1.     excellent organisational and project management skills with an ability to manage competing priorities;


2.     expertise in using G-Suite (or similar) and operating spreadsheets and building financial models on Excel;


3.     experience in managing Xero or similar online/cloud based accounting packages; and


4.     competence in using and integration of online payment (e.g. Stripe) and other technology applications (e.g. AutoEntry) into Xero to automate backend processes.


Personal Traits:


1.     excellent interpersonal and networking skills with Kollect team members, advisers, customers, suppliers and service providers etc.;


2.     excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to present financial results with clear and concise language.  (This requires a good understanding of the Kollect’s strategy and business environments, so the that business can continue to be positioned as a high growth business);


3.     excellent problem-solving skills;


4.     excellent organisational skills;


5.     willingness to learn and adopt new technologies;


6.     adaptable to frequent change; and


7.     a “can do” attitude with resilience and stamina and a team player.


Education & Experience:


  1. a professional qualification from a recognised accounting body (ACA, CCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent body); and


  1. at least 5 years’ plus experience in senior finance roles reporting directly to CFO, Finance Director or equivalent in industry;


  1. experience of scaling-up companies and raising finance for them; and


  1. familiarity with IFRS accounting standards.


Contractual arrangements

The GFC will be offered a full-time permanent position with appropriate terms and conditions.


The GFC will commit to comply with all Kollect policies for employees including but not limited to customer and data confidentiality, information security and expense management and rules applying to listed companies.


Expenses and mobile phone

The employee will be provided with a laptop and remote (home office) broadband access from which they will connect to the Kollect internal network.


A mobile phone will also be provided, or such expense reimbursed.  The GFC will also be responsible for their own transport arrangements to and from customer engagements etc.


In accordance with Kollect expense policy, all out-of-pocket expenses incurred relating to Kollect business will be reimbursed to the employee on presentation of vouched expense claims.
