Skip Hire in Galway City and County
Skip hire in Galway starts from €262.01 with VAT, delivery, collection and disposal included, notably sharper than most of the west thanks to five permitted suppliers covering the county for us. Galway keeps it simple: the 6-yard midi is the county's default skip, right for kitchen refits, garden clearances and most house moves. City streets, commuter towns and open countryside all sit inside County Galway, and skip hire needs shift with them; we deliver across the whole county for household, commercial and construction customers.
Coverage runs from Galway City and its suburbs through Athenry, Tuam and Ballinasloe, and west to Clifden, with each town priced individually so Connemara addresses get a real quote, not an estimate.

Quick Answers For Galway.
Is a skip permit required in Galway?
Only on public roads: Galway City Council covers the city, Galway County Council the rest. Skips on private property (driveways, sites, yards) need no permit at all.
What's the going rate for a skip in Galway?
From €262.01 with VAT, delivery, collection and disposal included. Five suppliers cover the county for us, which keeps Galway pricing well below the western average.
Which size should I book for a Galway house project?
Go with the county favourite: the 6-yard midi, which handles roughly 50 to 60 bin bags. Nearly every Galway order lands on this size, and it fits a standard driveway.
How long can I keep a skip in Galway?
The standard hire runs five days, which covers most jobs comfortably. Need longer? Call us and we will extend the hire; flexible hire is part of the service, and collection is only booked when you tell us the skip is ready.
Which sizes are available for Galway skip hire?
Everything from a 2.5 yard mini (25 to 30 bin bags) to a 14 yard XL (up to 140 bin bags). Availability per size depends on the local supplier, and the checkout only shows sizes genuinely bookable in Galway. Larger builder sizes (10 to 35 yards) can be arranged where the local supplier carries them; ask when booking.
What happens to the waste collected in Galway?
Every skip goes to a licensed facility where the load is sorted, and over 90% of material is diverted from landfill. Metal, timber, cardboard and inert material are separated into recycling streams as standard.
Is a skip the right choice for my Galway job?
If the waste arrives over days or weeks, yes. For context, in Galway skips start at €262.01, junk crew clearances run half-van loads and up from €950.00, and skip bags from €181.49. If everything is already in a pile and you would rather not load it, price the crew option before you decide.
Can I get a skip tomorrow in Galway?
Usually. Since 5 suppliers cover the county, next-day slots are standard on the main routes through Galway City and Tuam; more rural addresses can take an extra day. You see and confirm the real date before paying.
What is included in Kollect's skip hire price?
Delivery, collection, disposal and VAT. No hidden
extras. If you need an extra day, just call, we'll sort
it.
How long can I keep a hired skip in Ireland?
Standard hire is 5 days. Need more time? Call us before
collection and we'll extend it.
Do I need to be home when my skip is delivered?
No. Just tell us where to place it. Most of our
customers aren't home when the skip arrives.
Do I need a permit to hire a skip in Ireland?
Only if the skip is going on a public road. If it's on
your driveway or property, no permit needed. Call us if
you're not sure, we'll check.
What items are not allowed in a skip in Ireland?
No fridges, freezers, TVs & electricals, mattresses,
paint, tyres, asbestos, batteries, plasterboard, or
liquids. Got one of these? Our
junk removal service takes all of
them.
What happens if I overfill a hired skip?
The skip must be level-loaded, no higher than the rim.
Overfilled skips are unsafe to transport and can't be
collected. If you've got more than you thought, call us
and we'll upsize or add a second skip.
Can I share a skip hire with my neighbour in Ireland?
Absolutely. You just split the cost between you. One
address for delivery is all we need.

Prefer To Just Talk To Someone?
You're not the only one. Most of our customers call. It's often faster than booking online, especially if you're not sure what size, or if junk removal might suit you better. €15 off when you book by phone.
